Okie....I've been busy killing people recently.

Online.

For those who're familiar with Dynasty Warriors by Koei, there's actually an online version of it that's not in Japanese language. lol..

Recently I've been playin' around in the Taiwan servers, kinda fun and stress relieving, I also managed to find a group of SG players as well...we're considering gettin' into the same server and faction and be a force to be reckoned with. The servers are currently down though...sigh...

Oh! also, I've gotten myself a Syma Mosquito....a r/c helicopter...very difficult to control....oh well....sigh. Think will take some time to get used to flyin' it...I guess being in a small room/house doesn't help it either.....

So. I've completed The Godfather...nice game...currently waiting for DW6 and Mafia II to arrive on PC...and Warriors Orochi 2 (English version) to arrive on PS2...

and.... my jazz skills still suck :(

My jazz skills still suck...

Recently got Godfather PC game off the internet for about GBP 8.95 which translates to about S$24. I think it's a good deal though...I'm sure the game will cost like, what, $39.90 locally? (If I can find it I'll verify) MY PIZZA IS HERE!

Just the other day at Bernie's, we're talking about our DPM havin' to answer to everyone in the cabinet and the public. We ended up talking rubbish ....

Here's an example scenario that we talked about:

LHL: Eh, DPM, come to my office now.

WKS: Err okie...

*Goes to office*

LHL: So, how you gonna handle this? Doesn't matter....you'll get it!

WKS: !!

*Other people in the cabinet enters*

WKS: O_o'"

Minister X: Eh, wa kan seng? Ah si ler xian loong?
Minister Y: Chin chye la.

In any case, I'm wondering...the search for that JI guy, why aren't the reservist activated? I've always thought the reservists are operationally ready so are suitable for this kind of incidents? I mean, you don't have to activate EVERYONE, just mobilise those that are having alert amber lor~ Also can what...right? If not, then NS 2 years, reservist so many years...for what? For show?

Escaped militant suspect...what happens now?

News this morning stated that an extremist militant suspect has escaped from a detention centre. Mas Selamat bin Kastari escaped the detention centre at about 4pm++ yesterday afternoon from the Whitley Road facility. How did he escape?

He escaped by requesting a toilet break while on the way to the visiting room in the facility.

WHAT THE HELL!? What did he do? Jump out the toilet window? Climbed out the fence? Or simply walked out the main gate? If he's a dangerous person, why aren't there guards accompanying him to the toilet? Don't tell me it's so easily to escape a detention centre that houses people who are suspected to be dangerous? What were the guards doing? Are the facility walls so easy to jump over? Were the guards slacking away they didn't realise someone sneaked past them? Who's to blame? The guards? The head of the detention centre? The Minister?

The news was released about 4 hrs after the incident happened...why so late? Wouldn't it be better to let the public know immediately so the public can help keep a look out? They don't trust the public to help? or are they afraid of public anger? Bah, think already also pissed off.

Maybe at this point, IOC is reconsidering their decision to let Singapore host the Youth Olympics...after all, our security seems to be sucky isn't it? Maybe F1 will be cancelled too...who knows... If both are cancelled...then great, a black mark in Singapore's history.

Maybe it's a good thing though, that way, Singaporeans and our 'Elites' higher-ups won't be so 'yaya' no more.

Technical vs Spiritual?

I haven't been thinking about this thing for a long time...today, while talking to YH, I had a revelation.

Technical vs Spiritual. For as long as I can remember and as far as the people I know of that're in worship ministry in churches, people have always been putting 'Musician level' and 'able to lead people into worship' together. Which.....I think it's not exactly wrong...but....not exactly right at the same time......

To be a good worship team, you need to be able to work together to lead the congregation to worship... that's the main aim of the team I suppose....and that's what people term as, 'spirituality'. However, there's another school of thought which proposes the team to be technically good as well...therefore, 'technical'. I mean, nobody wants to worship to shitty music right?

Tonight I realised it's actually 2 different issues altogether....the spirituality of the worship team itself...and the technical prowess of the individual musicians in the team.

The spirituality of the whole team is very important in the worship ministry as it's their job to bring people into God's presence. Therefore, everyone has be united and be strong spiritually and whatever whatever. I mean, the musicians themselves can play like shit and make it sound nice, fine with me, as long as people get worship quality music.

It is actually okie for a worship team to be moderately proficient with their instruments and able to lead people into the Presence...but...why would they stop there? I mean, wouldn't the individual musicians want to improve and make the whole worship experience better? Nobody said technicality and spirituality are mutually exclusive anyway... However...from my previous experience with TPMC, I realised most people are kinda resistant to improving themselves. Why? I wouldn't know...maybe their afraid they'll become too technical? Are they lazy? Are they just serving for the sake of serving? Looking cool? Afraid they'll be branded as worshipping their instruments? (Like I did - Yes, I was branded as worshipping my instrument. Behind my back.)

What are the individual musicians thinking? Just knowing how to play a few chords, bringing decent music to the masses is good enough? Think about it...would you think you're actually doing what God has intended for you to do? (If you're supposed to be in the worship ministry as a musician in the first place) Are you sure He wants you to just be able to play a few chords here and there and sound decent? C'mon man, God loves to see flashy display of His gifts to you man...He wants people to KNOW THAT YOU ARE PLAYING FOR GOD AND YOUR GIFT IS FROM HIM man...do you want people to think that , 'wow, he's playing for God and God has only given him these pathetic skills to fool around with' or 'man, what's he doing with God's gift for him? His God must be a lousy one to give him such sucky skills'. I'm pretty sure when God wants you to play something, He wants it to be so amazing that people know that it must be from Him.
If musicians of the secular can be so good...why not God's musicians? Is our God so weak that He can only produce sucky musicians to be in his worship ministries? Is our God so weak that His followers don't give a hoot about His gifts to them?

You must be thinking I'm bein' very technical here...but no, I never said to neglect the spiritual side of worshipping... Think about this way...if you only know G C D chords, God can only work thru you with those 3 pathetic chords. However, if you know a hellotta chords, God can have more fun with your worship cuz you know alot more stuff...makes sense? Makes sense doesn't it? If your mastery of your instrument is there, God can definitely do more wonderful stuff through you, don't you think?

But then again, if not all the individual musicians in the team think that way, there'll definitely be problems...about people not wanting to learn parts, not wanting to explore new ways of playing old songs and blah blah, thus causing tension and strife and watever negative thing you can think of. That's why I say, if you think the team is not for you, just leave. Don't spoil the whole worship experience for other people just because the team isn't united at all.

Enough of ranting I suppose....It's all individual, if people are content with just goin' thru the motions, looking cool, and slacking away and wasting God's gift...so be it. I'll just continue to honor God by honouring His gift to me. Who knows? Maybe next time I can reach out to people through my wonderful guitar playing :)

Bobby and friends...

Been a long time since I updated...been lazy and tryin' to complete my Dawn of Sorrow. Konami is good for their Castlevania series and music games series I tell ya, excellent.

So what have I been up to? Last week, it's been gf, work and guitar and games and TV. I found some time to meet my close friend, June for dinner at some restaurant at Far East Square too!

Who is Bobby? Bobby is my gf's rough collie that's 7 years old and turning senile(I think). He looks cheeky and is normally very naughty. I think he finds stepping on my gf's toes fun! Did I mention his nails are pretty sharp? ^^ He is very sticky though, likes to follow people around the house and obviously, being big sized, is very 'redundant'(ding day). Most of the time he only sticks to me and only sticks to my gf when he wants to play.........(like steppin' on her toes) :P

For those who're wonderin' what a rough collie is, remember Lassie? Yeah, that breed of dogs.

Okie, it's a Saturday and I'm back in my home at Jurong East playing around with my UX2.

My Korg1500G is out of comission, something to do with the plugs or cables or some shit like that I suppose. Since my MG15 is not at home, I went to buy the UX2 to use :D. For those who don't know what it is, it's an audio interface that's used to connect my guitar to my computer/laptop. It comes with a nifty Gearbox software that has lots of amp modelling and effects modelling. With it, I can achieve many different kind of sounds on my guitar. Way cool I tell ya. From smooth overdrive to rocking distortion to nice gentle jazzy sounds, it's amazing. For more information, pls go to http://www.line6.com/. (Yes, I'm to lazy to write up anythin' about it.) Oh yeah, it comes with Ableton Live too, so I can easier record stuff and shit like that.

Was supposed to meet up with Zun but had to work last minute. I hate working on weekends, what a waste of time. Irritating clients. -_-

I don't know why I created this blog. Perhaps I don't care. Perhaps secretly I want to let people know how I feel everyday. Perhaps I'm just lonely. Perhaps I'm just bored. Perhaps we'll never find out...perhaps?
